Auto shop - Homeschool Style

Our family is embarking on a new adventure. We have purchased a 1965 Mustang Coupe in great need of restoration. It was one of our goals for the boys to learn how engines and other automobile systems work prior to their graduation from our homeschool and now we have a hands on way for them to learn. The first step, as we see it, is to completely strip out the interior and see what we have to work with. Two engines and a rebuilt transmission came with the car and so we have something to work with there. This project will be a fun way for our boys to learn all about automobiles - from the inside out and to spend quality time with dad. I will post pictures periodically as things change.

Now that is the way to learn about cars! Isn't homeschooling the best?!?!?!

When DearHubby was in high school he bought a '67 Black Mustang which is how he learned about cars and how he became a "gear" head. DearHubby then went on to LeTourneau University where they had a club called Automotive Society. DearHubby spent most of his time there and fixed up his car really nice...He big bored the engine to hop up the power and then painted flames on the front. He then took it drag racing and did a lot of burn-outs. I met him after college and DearHubby no longer could afford the 6 mpg gas usage. He still dreams about fixing it up some day and showing it off in car shows, but for now the car sits in our garage. We drive around in my Black '85 Mustang, which temporarily satisfies DearHubby. Just wanted to share our Mustang experience and to let you know that if you need any tips, drop me a note. DearHubby is a Mustang buff. Hope your boys enjoy.
